Hospice Criteria
Eligibility requirements for Medicare/Medi-cal benefits will be determined when the attending physician & medical director certify that the patient has a limited life expectancy of 6 months or less. The patient or representative elects/authorizes hospice. Curative or aggressive treatment is no longer effective or appropriate. Hospice provides palliative and comfort measure which include symptom management.
How does hospice care begin?
Referrals to hospice care can be initiated by the patient's physician, discharge planner, social worker, family and friends or anyone concerned about the patient's well-being. Upon calling Olive Branch at (714) 941-0853, we will contact the patient's physician for approval and services will begin immediately.

Where does hospice care take place?
We offer a comprehensive range of services available to you wherever you may be. Hospice care can take place within the patient's home, assisted living facility, board and care, nursing home and hospital.
